Son-Goku har brug for magiske bønner, hvis han skal overleve, så Son-Gohan begiver sig nu på ryggen af sin drage af sted mod mester Kvædes tårn for at få de livsvigtige bønner. Det bliver en farlig rejse, for Cooler og hans håndlangere har stadig ikke opgivet jagten på Son-Goku og hans venner.
